Terms of UsePrivacy PolicyCookies

This policy explains what happens to your information when you create a wallpaper with SchedSnap.

Your schedule

You don’t need an account to create a wallpaper. Your classes and wallpaper title are saved as a draft in this browser tab’s session storage so you can restore or discard them after a refresh or return visit in the same tab. Discarding the draft or removing all classes clears it. Closing the tab normally clears session storage, though browser session recovery may restore it. Drafts are not uploaded to our servers. Uploaded images and appearance settings are not included in the draft.

Your wallpaper is created in your browser and downloaded to your device. We don’t upload the finished wallpaper to our storage.

Importing a schedule image

Selecting an image creates a preview in your browser. It is sent through our server to an AI provider only when you choose Import classes: Google Gemini first, or DeepSeek if Gemini cannot read the image. The provider reads the image and returns the class details for you to review.

SchedSnap does not save uploaded schedule images or extracted classes to its application storage. The AI providers’ handling of that data is described below. Crop out names, student IDs, contact details, grades, and other sensitive information before importing.

You can choose Enter manually instead. Manual entry does not send your schedule to an AI provider.

How AI providers handle images

Google Gemini usually processes the image first. If Gemini is unavailable or fails, our server may send the image to DeepSeek as a fallback. Each provider processes the image only to return class details to us.

Google’s Gemini API terms apply to its processing. For unpaid services, Google may use images and responses to improve its products, and human reviewers may review them. For paid services, Google does not use them for product improvement, but may retain them for safety, security, and legal requirements. Which rules apply depends on the service’s billing setup. Read Google’s data-use terms.

DeepSeek’s Open Platform terms and privacy policy apply to fallback processing. DeepSeek states that it processes and stores data on servers in China. Read DeepSeek’s Open Platform terms · DeepSeek Privacy Policy. Avoid importing if either provider’s terms are not acceptable to you.

Design download counts

When a wallpaper download starts, including repeat downloads, we add to that design’s public download total. These totals also appear in the admin dashboard and operate independently of optional analytics cookies. The counter stores the design ID, selected device type (mobile, tablet, or laptop), and total in Upstash Redis, without your classes or wallpaper image. For abuse prevention, we briefly store a keyed hash of your IP address and its request count for up to one minute. A download count records a save being started; it cannot confirm that the file finished saving on your device.

Website usage

If you accept optional cookies, we use PostHog to understand visits and actions such as choosing a design, importing classes, and downloading a wallpaper. This can include browser and device details, approximate location, template choices, class counts, and file type and size.

These usage reports do not include your uploaded image, class names, or room details. We don’t record your browsing session.

You can accept or reject optional cookies at any time on the Cookies page.

Services that help run the site

Vercel hosts SchedSnap, and Cloudinary serves template artwork. These providers may process IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect their services. Their own privacy and retention policies apply.

Daily AI import allowance

AI imports are limited to 15 attempts per public IP address per day, resetting at midnight Philippine time (UTC+8). Devices sharing an internet connection may share this allowance. An attempt is reserved before analysis and released when analysis fails, times out, or the AI provider is overloaded, so a failed read does not use your allowance. Uploads you cancel may still count. Checking the remaining allowance does not consume an attempt. Manual entry is unlimited.

Our server processes your IP address to create a keyed hash that changes each day. Upstash Redis stores that pseudonymous identifier and its import count; the counter does not contain your raw IP address, schedule image, or extracted classes. Counted records are set to expire at the daily reset. Checking an unused allowance does not create a stored counter.

This counter protects the service and operates independently of optional analytics consent. Expiry applies to the live counter; providers may separately retain operational logs or backups under their own policies. See Upstash’s Privacy Policy.

Contact and artwork requests

If you contact us about privacy, artwork ownership, or removal, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your name, contact details, message, and supporting links. We use it to review the request, verify relevant rights, respond, and resolve the issue. We may retain relevant correspondence for follow-up, disputes, or legal requirements, and share necessary details with service providers or advisers helping resolve the request, or where required by law.

Contact us by email at dcd.inc.mail@gmail.com or through our Facebook page. Messages sent there are also handled under Meta’s privacy practices. Avoid sending sensitive documents or unrelated personal information. You may use that route to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you sent us, subject to applicable requirements. For artwork requests, see the removal instructions in our Terms of Use.

Your choices

Use manual entry to avoid sending an image to AI providers, and remove personal information before importing. To clear a saved class draft, refresh and choose Discard draft, remove all classes, or clear your browser’s site data. Downloaded wallpapers remain on your device until you delete them.

Design likes

Hearts contribute to a public count for each design. Upstash Redis stores the random browser identifiers that liked each design; these identifiers are not shown publicly. A cookie remembers your identifier for one year. Clicking a filled heart removes that browser’s like. Clearing site data does not remove recorded likes, and another browser can like the same design. Voting works separately from optional analytics. To reduce spam, short-lived rate-limit counters use a keyed hash of your IP address rather than storing the raw address; these counters expire after one minute.
